A separator for a fuel cell is provided, which uses polycrystalline silicon instead of graphite, ensures low electric resistance, high mechanical strength and stability against an electrolyte, and has a smaller weight and volume to allow downsizing of a fuel cell. The separator for a fuel cell is formed of a mixture of carbon and polycrystalline silicon. The separator for a fuel cell is obtained by the method comprising the steps of: mixing carbon with polycrystalline silicon to form a matrix(200); and forming fine flow paths(210) on the matrix. In a variant, the separator is obtained by the method comprising the steps of: forming a matrix by using polycrystalline silicon; mixing the polycrystalline silicon with carbon; and forming fine flow paths on the mixed matrix. |
