PURPOSE: An apparatus and method for searching a gateway in a wideband wireless connection system are provided to effectively distribute loads by considering of the mobility of a small base station in the wideband wireless connection system. CONSTITUTION: A small base station(210) transmits the location information of a base station to a basic gateway(230) stored in a database beforehand. The small base station receives information for one or more gateways(250) determined using the location information. The small base station determines one gateway of the one or more gateways as a serving gateway. The data base includes the location information of the gateways.
