<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information reproduction device capable of detecting the head position of a code ward, regardless of the presence or absence of a sync mark and to provide an information reproduction method. <P>SOLUTION: In one embodiment, the information reproduction device reproducing information read from a recording medium includes calculation means calculating the parity test pass rate of a low-density parity check matrix in a plurality of code word candidates included in the information read from the recording medium, selection means selecting one of the plurality of code word candidates based on the parity test pass rate calculated by the calculation means, and decoding means decoding the code word candidate selected by the selection means by repetitive processing by repetitive decoding. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
