The pressure unit (1) has printing element (10) and inking unit (20). The inking unit has an ink reservoir (21) for storing ink, and rotating rollers (22-24). An ink metering device (30) controllably applies ink from ink reservoir to respective lateral surfaces of the rollers. An ink removing unit (40,40') has doctor blades (42-44) and is arranged between ink metering device and printing element. The doctor blade adjusts and reduces paint applied at the outer surface of the ink take-off roller (41). An independent claim is included for method for operating of pressure unit.
