<p>Disclosed in an embodiment of the present invention are a method and apparatus for MAC address allocation; an address allocation apparatus receiving an MAC address allocation request sent by a device when the device is started, and obtaining the location information of the device according to the MAC address allocation request; and allocating an MAC address for the device according to the location information. The present embodiment can flexibly and uniformly manage the device when compared to the prior art, thus improving the maintainability of the device.</p>
