PURPOSE: A rice-chaff expanding and softening apparatus is provided to extend the cycle of repair and to improve the efficiency of facilities by changing the horizontal rotation into the vertical rotation of the main parts of a driving part. CONSTITUTION: The driving part of a rice-chaff expanding and softening apparatus(10) vertically operates. A cylindrical casing(30) is installed in the main body(20) of the apparatus. A rotary shaft(31) penetrates through the cylindrical casing. A rice-chaff supplying screw is installed at the external side of the rotary shaft and pressurizes rice-chaff and supplies the pre-determined amount of the rice-chaff. A expanding and softening screw bite(33-1) is spirally mounted at an expanding and softening screw(33).
