PURPOSE: A power saving device and method are provided to eliminate harmonic waves by parallely connecting a harmonic wave resonance filter circuit consisting of an inductor and a capacitor. CONSTITUTION: A first current limiter is parallely connected to non-linear load(NL). The first current limiter restricts a current inputted to a power saving device. Rectification devices(D1-D4) are connected to the first current limiter and rectify the current. A reactance circuit is connected to an output terminal of the rectification devices. The reactance circuit makes a pulsating current smooth. The pulsating current is outputted from the rectification devices. The reactance circuit comprises an inductor and a first capacitor(C1). The first capacitor is serially connected to the inductor. A second current limiter is serially connected to the reactance circuit.
