<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a voltage regulator which can perform overcurrent protection before an occurrence of output voltage drop even when an input-output voltage difference is small in a large output current state. <P>SOLUTION: A differential amplifier circuit is configured so as to detect a sense current flowed by a sense transistor, and therefore performs overcurrent protection before an occurrence of output voltage drop even when an input-output voltage difference is small and an output current is large.
