<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surface coating cutting tool that highly strikes a balance between compatible wear resistance and lubricity. <P>SOLUTION: This surface coating cutting tool has a base material and a coating formed on the base material. The coating includes at least two or more layers, at least one layer of the two layers is a first compound layer composed of MoN, the first compound layer has an amorphous region and a crystalloid region in this order from the side of the base material in the thickness direction, the amorphous region is composed of an amorphous substance, the crystalloid region is composed of a hexagonal structure, a layer immediately below the first compound layer is a second compound layer composed of M<SB POS="POST">1-x</SB>Mo<SB POS="POST">x</SB>N<SB POS="POST">y</SB>(0.01≤x≤0.3, 0.95≤y≤1.05), M is one or more kinds of elements selected from a group composed of Si, Cr, AL, Ti, Ta and Hf, and the second compound layer is composed of a crystalloid structure including the hexagonal structure, and has a hardness of ≥4,200 mgf/μm<SP POS="POST">2</SP>. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
