<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rubber composition improving mechanical strength, abrasion resistance, and low fuel consumption properties in a good balance, and a pneumatic tire using the rubber composition. <P>SOLUTION: The rubber composition includes: a diene copolymer, which has a conjugated diene unit and a unit represented by formula (1) and is modified at least in one terminal by a specific acrylic compound; isoprene rubber; and a vulcanizing agent. In the formula (1): at least one of X<SP POS="POST">1</SP>, X<SP POS="POST">2</SP>and X<SP POS="POST">3</SP>is a group represented by formula (Ia) or a hydroxy group. In the formula (Ia): R<SP POS="POST">1</SP>and R<SP POS="POST">2</SP>are each independently a 1-6C hydrocarbyl group, a 1-6C substituted hydrocarbyl group, a silyl group or a substituted silyl group; and R<SP POS="POST">1</SP>and R<SP POS="POST">2</SP>may connects together to form a ring structure with a nitrogen atom. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
