<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet carrying device having a structure capable of registering the tip in the carrying direction of a sheet being a carrying object, and forming the structure as a simpler structure than a conventional article, and an image reader. <P>SOLUTION: A part of a film member 31 is formed as a fixing part 31B fixed to a document tray 16 side, and another part of the film member 31 continuously arranged to the fixing part 31B is formed as a displacement part 31A displaceable between a first position and a second position in response to changing of a bending state of a boundary part in the boundary part with the fixing part 31B. When the displacement part 31A exists in the first position, a tip part in the carrying direction of a document D stacked on a document tray 16 is allowed to abut on the displacement part 31A, and can thereby be used as a positioning member for registering the tip part in the carrying direction of the document D in a predetermined position. When normally rotating a separation roller 12 for carrying the document D supplied from the document tray 16 in the carrying direction, the displacement part 31A is displaced to the second position from the first position, and becomes a state of not hindering carrying of the document D. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
