The wheel bearing unit has a torque transmission provided at rolling rivet (5) having front teeth (6) in which radially comprehensive sealing arrangements (7,8) are provided. A vehicle side covering protective cap (25) covers sealing arrangements along radial and axial directions. The protective cap is secured by press-fitting hollow cylindrical end portion (13) of cap at outer ring (1). The signal transmitters (12) are arranged in the sealing arrangements.
