<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce noise of a roots-type blower. <P>SOLUTION: The roots-type blower includes: a housing defining a rotor chamber having an inlet and outlet; rotors configured such that first and second rotors are rotatably mounted in the rotor chamber, each rotor defining a plurality of lobes, adjacent lobes and the housing cooperating to define at one or more times gas transport chambers, and the gas is moved from the inlet to the outlet via the gas transport chamber; and an outlet gas flow channel extending along an inner surface of the housing from the outlet in the direction opposite to the rotating direction of the rotor and configured to permit the gas to flow from the outlet to the gas transport chamber when the lobe of the rotor is rotated toward the outlet. The outlet gas flow channel is configured to make a flow rate of the gas into the gas transport chamber substantially constant or to form a flow area non-linearly increasing toward the outlet. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
