<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a material for safely and effectively performing restoration of corneal endothelial cell disease/defects without the necessity for corneal transplantation in treatment of defects of corneal endothelial cell in the interior of the eye, and a methodology for the treatment for corneal endothelial cell defects using the material. <P>SOLUTION: A gel film for treating corneal endothelial defects, which is a transparent, flexible, elastic, safe, and sterile organic/inorganic composite gel, stable for corneal endothelial cells, is made up of a three-dimensional network structure and water, formed from a polymer of water-soluble radical polymerizable organic monomers (A) and delaminated clay mineral (B), with (B)/(A) mass ratio of 0.1 to 2.5, and optical transmittance of 80% and above. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
