PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To appropriately set a search area when detecting a motion vector, and improve the efficiency of detecting the motion vector.

SOLUTION: An image correction unit 201 corrects distortion aberrations of reference image data corresponding to image data generated at a first time point by an imaging unit and image data generated at a second time point after the first time point by the imaging unit according to a distortion aberration characteristic of a lens unit. A motion detection unit A203 detects a motion vector based on the reference image data and the image data with the corrected distortion aberrations. A vector correction unit 204 corrects an error component generated by distortion aberration correction of each image with respect to the motion vector detected by the motion detection unit A203 according to the distortion aberration characteristic of the lens unit.A motion detection unit B205 sets a search range of a motion vector based on the corrected motion vector, and detects a motion vector in the search range.
