<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing toner particles low in amount of coarse particles and having a sharp grain size distribution, and to provide a polymerization toner exhibiting excellent developability. <P>SOLUTION: A method for manufacturing toner particles includes: a preparation step for preparing an aqueous medium containing poor water soluble inorganic fine particles; a granulation step for granulating a polymerizable monomer composition containing a polymerizable monomer and a coloring agent in the aqueous medium to form particles of the polymerizable monomer composition; and a polymerization step for polymerizing the polymerizable monomer contained in the particles of the polymerizable monomer composition. The poor water soluble inorganic fine particles at the time of granulation is -5.0 mV≤ζt≤20.0 mV, where an average value of zeta potential values is ζt, and 10nm≤MV≤30nm, where a volume average particle diameter is MV. The granulation step is performed by circulation flowing the polymerizable monomer composition between a tank 1 and a tank 2 provided with agitation means having high shear force, and the fluid volume of both tanks satisfies a relation: 40×10<SP POS="POST">-4</SP>≥V2/V1≥2×10<SP POS="POST">-4</SP>. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
