This overhead transport vehicle is provided with a traveling unit (210), a carrying unit (220), and a swing suppressing member (270). The traveling unit (210) travels on a track (100). The carrying unit (220) stores a subject (400) to be carried, and carries the subject. The swing suppressing member (270) can reciprocate between a pressing position and a retracted position. The swing suppressing member has a pressing section (273), lever sections (271, 272), and an urging member (274). The pressing section presses the side surfaces of the subject. One end side of the lever sections supports the pressing section, and the other end side of the lever sections is pivotally supported to the carrying unit. The urging member urges the pressing section to the subject side. The pressing section has a main body section (750), sliding sections (731, 732), and elastic bodies (761, 762). The main body section is pivotally supported to the lever sections such that the main body section can rotate. The sliding sections are slidably supported to the main body section. The elastic bodies are disposed between the main body section and the sliding sections, and elastically slides the sliding sections. |
