Provided is a method for manufacturing an optical element for an optical pickup device, wherein the direction of coma aberration can be easily grasped. A coma aberration mark (MC) corresponding to the direction and degree of coma aberration is formed on a second flange surface (12b) of a flange projection part (12) of an objective lens (10), and therefore the direction and degree of coma aberration can be directly grasped by the coma aberration mark (MC). Consequently, a high-accuracy optical pickup device can be provided while the workability of mounting of the objective lens (10) is improved.
