It is intended to provide a floor material for urination which has both an effect of allowing the passage of the urine while controlling the absorption speed and absorption amount of the urine and a low water-absorbing effect of gradually absorbing the remaining urine wetting the surface of grains, is excellent in shape-retention properties without losing the shape even after absorbing the urine in a larger amount and, therefore, is suitable as a floor material for pet animal urination. A floor material for pet animal urination characterized in that the surface of water-absorbing grains (1') is coated with a slow rate water-semipermeable film (6) so that the passage of the urine among the water-absorbing grains (1') is facilitated by the slow rate water-semipermeable film (6) while the remaining urine (8) wetting the surface of the water-semipermeable film (6) is gradually absorbed into the water-absorbing grains (1') through the water-semipermeable film (6).
