<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To appropriately fasten and loosen a nut with respect to a stud bolt regardless of the shape of a member to be fastened. <P>SOLUTION: This bolt tensioner is provided with: a housing 201; a puller bar 202 disposed at the axial center in the housing 201; an oil pump unit 115 that moves the puller bar 202 in the axial direction; a puller bar socket 203 that couples the puller bar 202 and the stud bolt 65 relatively immovably in the axial direction; a locking ring 205 that operates the puller bar socket 203; a nut socket 207 that is supported rotatably in the housing 201 at the tip side from the puller bar 202 and at the axial center; and a nut rotation device 209 that can rotate the nut socket 207 in forward and reverse directions and is mounted to the outer periphery of the housing 201.
