THERMAL TRANSFER PRINTER AND TRANSFER METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform excellent printing on transfer paper by suppressing the occurrence of wrinkling in a thermal transfer printer.

SOLUTION: In the thermal transfer printer including a thermal transfer unit including a thermal head in which a plurality of heat generating elements are provided in a line, magnitude of electric current applied to the heat generating elements corresponding to non-transfer areas on both sides of a transfer area in which an image is transferred to original fabric is controlled so as not to cause transfer of ink and so as to be consecutively decreased toward both ends of the thermal head.
