<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow a high current-limiting and current interruption performance by suppressing a second movable contact member that has moved in repulsion to an open position in the process of current interruption operation from reversing to a closed position, related to a repulsion type circuit breaker. <P>SOLUTION: A circuit breaker includes a first movable contact member 3 connected to an opening/closing mechanism, and a second movable contact member 4 which faces the first movable contact 3 and is energized toward a closed position by a contact spring 8. The first and second movable contact members 3 and 4 face each other vertically, with contact points 3a and 4a provided to their tips abutting with each other. Flexible lead wires 6 and 7 are connected to rear ends of the movable contact members, and the movable contact members are pivoted around spindles 3b and 4b for rotation. An inverted U shape magnetic yoke 10 is arranged to face the rear end part of the second movable contact 4, with its rear end part entering the inverted U shape magnetic yoke when the second movable contact 4 moves toward the open position. Consequently, an electromagnetic repulsive force that acts on the rear end part of each movable contact member to energize the contact member toward the closed position is suppressed from occurring. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
