GATEWAY, MEDIA GATEWAY, AND CONTROL METHOD OF MEDIA GATEWAY

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide technique which facilitates effective distribution of processing among a plurality of media gateways even where different media gateways have different processing capacities.

SOLUTION: A gateway 1 acquires information on the processing capacity and monitors operational status for each of media gateways 2. Upon receiving an INVITE message with a medium type specified, the gateway 1 selects, based on the processing capacity and operational status of each of the media gateways 2, one of the media gateways 2 as a relay node which has enough capacity for a session of the medium type specified in this connection request. The media gateways 2 each communicate information on the processing capacity thereof to the gateway 1. The media gateways 2 each perform relay processing for a session of a medium type specified from the gateway 1 according to instructions from the gateway 1.
