<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent rotation of left and right vibration prevention lenses within a plane orthogonal to an optical axis. <P>SOLUTION: In a binocular, a lens holding member (32) holding left and right vibration prevention lenses is moved within a plane orthogonal to the optical axis relative to vibration prevention base members (31, 38, and 36). The binocular comprises: a guide member (34) arranged between the lens holding member and the vibration prevention base member; first guide mechanisms (32b and 34b) configured to roll a first ball (35b), which is arranged between the lens holding member and the guide member, in a first direction, and engage with the first ball in a direction orthogonal to the first direction, thereby guiding the relative movement of the lens holding member and the guide member in the first direction; and second guide mechanisms (34d and 36d) configured to roll a second ball (37d), which is arranged between the guide member and the vibration prevention base member, in a second direction, and engage with the second ball in a direction orthogonal to the second direction, thereby guiding the relative movement of the guide member and the vibration prevention base member in the second direction. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
