The present application relates to the field of communications, and discloses a method and device for locating an HeNB so as to master the location information about the HeNB accurately. The method includes: an HeNB sends a locating request message to an E-SMLC via an S1 interface, the E-SMLC instructs the HeNB to perform locating measurement and locates the HeNB according to the locating measurement result returned by the HeNB so as to obtain the location information about the HeNB, and the HeNB receives a locating response message from the E-SMLC via the S1 interface and determines the physical location of the HeNB according to the location information carried in the locating response message; in this manner, the interaction flow between the HeNB and the E-SMLC is redefined based on the S1 interface protocol and the LPP, so that the HeNB can be located accurately, and effective management can be realized under the premise of mastering the specific distribution situation of the HeNB in a timely manner, thus ensuring the system performance.
