PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical fiber manufacturing device capable of continuously spinning optical fibers of a fixed wire diameter without generating thread breakage in manufacture in a device manufacturing the optical fiber by applying light to a photocurable composition and hardening it.

SOLUTION: The device for manufacturing the optical fiber by applying light to the photocurable composition and hardening it includes a nozzle for discharging the photocurable composition; a light irradiation device for applying the light to a thread-like photocurable composition discharged from the nozzle; and control means for making the light irradiation intensity at the discharge port of the nozzle to 0.2 mW/cm2or less.
