<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device with excellent display characteristics in addition to good contrast ratio and wide viewing angle, and high response speed of a liquid crystal molecule. <P>SOLUTION: A liquid crystal display device according to an embodiment of the present invention includes a first substrate and a second substrate that face each other, a liquid crystal layer including liquid crystal molecules and provided between the first substrate and the second substrate, and a first pixel electrode and a second pixel electrode separated from each other and disposed on the first substrate. One of the first pixel electrode and the second pixel electrode is applied with first voltage via a data line, while the other of the first pixel electrode and the second pixel electrode is applied with second voltage via a voltage transmission line. Each of the first pixel electrode and the second pixel electrode includes a trunk and a plurality of branch electrodes extending from the trunk. The branch electrodes of the first pixel electrode and the branch electrodes of the second pixel electrode are arranged alternately.
