<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To specify the absolute position of each roller without adjusting the slit position of each encoder. <P>SOLUTION: Regarding a device for rotationally driving the conveying roller and the paper discharge roller by a common motor, when the number of slits of the first encoder provided in the conveying roller is L1, the number of slits of the second encoder provided in the paper discharge roller is L2, and a ratio of rotation of the rollers is R1:R2, the number L1, the number L2 and the ratio of R1:R2 are set such that a value (R1×L1) and a value (R2×L2) are coprime. Meanwhile, information, about the edge intervals and the types of the edges of the first and second encoder signals obtained in a period where the conveying roller rotates by an amount of R1 and the paper discharge roller rotates by an amount of R2, is registered together with the absolute position of each roller into a condition table. The control device is configured to, when the power source is turned on, rotate the rollers at constant speed, and set the coordinate system of the detection position to an absolute coordinate system, based on the edge intervals and the edge types of the first and second encoders in this period, the detection position (rotating position) of the roller at the point corresponding to the edge interval, and the absolute position stored in the condition table. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
