<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flap gate which is hardly affected by hydraulic pressure of waves, suitable for installation at an oceanfront such as a beach and a harbor. <P>SOLUTION: A door stop 5 having a sleeve 9 which communicates with the water outlet of a conduit 2 is fixed to a retaining wall surface with an anchor member 10. A door body 7 is fixed to the door stop 5 with a hinge 6, so as to come in contact with the tip of the sleeve 9 for opening or closing of the water outlet. The tip of the sleeve 9 is tilted upward relative to the vertical plane. The door body 7 is pressed to the tip of the sleeve 9 by the self-weight. The door body 7 is pushed open by water flow from the inside. When the outside water level is raised, the door body 7 is pressed to the tip of the sleeve 9 by hydraulic pressure, so that the water outlet is closed to prevent reverse flow of water. The door body 7 has a flat outside surface and an outer shape having a size approximately equal to the diameter of the sleeve 9.
