Provided is a compact vehicle steering device with excellent strength and capable of restricting the amount of movement of a steering axis within a housing. This vehicle steering device is a steer-by-wire type vehicle steering device (1) which converts rotative power of an electric motor (21, 22) to movement in the axial direction (X1) of the steering axis (6) via a ball-screw mechanism (23). In response to the direction of movement of the steering axis (6), contact sections (45, 46) at both ends of a screw shaft (32) in the middle portion of the steering axis (6) are passed through a rotor (26), contacting the respective stoppers (47, 48) and thereby restricting the amount of movement of the steering axis (6). The stoppers (47, 48) are configured from a strong material of the strength of a component other than the housing. |
