Provided is a technology enabling the maintenance of desirable operation performance and emission of a multifuel internal combustion engine using CNG and light oil even when the variation of required engine load is large. The multifuel internal combustion engine is provided with: a supply amount determination means for performing a supply amount determination process for determining CNG and light oil supply amounts in accordance with a required engine load which is an engine load required by an operator; a fuel supply means for supplying the amounts of CNG and light oil determined by the supply amount determination means to the internal combustion engine; and a gaseous fuel supply restricting means for prohibiting the supply of more than a predetermined amount of gaseous fuel when the rate of change of the required engine load is greater than a specified value, despite the determination by the supply amount determination means.
