METHOD AND DEVICE FOR GENERATING SYNTHESIS GAS

The invention relates to a method of generating synthesis gas through catalytic conversion of methane passing the reagents through a fixed catalytic layer. The circular layer of the catalyst is used as fixed catalytic layer where the reagents are passed from the internal to the external surface of the catalyst's circular layer. The thermal regime of the process is maintained by mixing products of plasmochemical decay with the methane mix with gasified reagents, while at least a part of the reagents are supplied directly to the plasmochemical zone. The invention also relates to a reactor for generating the synthesis gas by catalytic conversion of methane including the fixed catalytic layer and the device for heating the reagents and catalyst. The catalytic layer is made in the form of a ring. The heating device for the reagents and the catalyst is a plasma torch in the central area of the reactor in the plasmochemical zone protected by fireproof insulation. Between said zone and the catalytic layer there is a buffer zone where mixing of the reagents with the products of plasmochemical decay takes place.
