<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus which in digital zooming, generates a blur similar to that obtained in optical zooming. <P>SOLUTION: An original image obtained from an imaging element is trimmed according to the magnification (electronic zoom magnification) of digital zooming, thereby obtaining a target image. An output image generation part 55 performs blurring processing for blurring an unfocused subject in the target image to obtain an output image.
