<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a side mirror device which can be automatically spread out even when a vehicle is made to run by a driver in a state that a side mirror body is kept stored. <P>SOLUTION: The side mirror body 4 constituting the side mirror device 2 on the front passenger seat side of the vehicle 1 is arranged to one of a spread-out position and a storing position by turning with respect to the body of the vehicle 1. When the vehicle 1 is made to run by the driver in the state that the side mirror body 4 is kept stored, a flow direction (arrow 15) of a white line 14 of a traveling lane captured by a camera 5 mounted on the side mirror body 4 goes away from the Y-direction of a monitor 8. When a position determinator 11 detects the fact and determines that the side mirror body 4 is stored, the side mirror ECU 12 operates a motor 9 to automatically spread out the side mirror body 4. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
