Producing optically pure diastereomers from racemic mixtures, is claimed. The method does not make use of traditional fermentation biotechnology process and thus it is energy-, water- and capital-intensive. An independent claim is also included for D- and L-phenyl ethylamine for preparing optically pure D- and L-lactic acid.
