PURPOSE: An electric bicycle can provide an automatic transmission function by controlling the rotational speed ratio of pedals and driving wheels even though the electric bicycle does not have a power transmission device. CONSTITUTION: An electric bicycle comprises a pedal rotational speed detecting part, a driving wheel rotational speed detecting part, a motor, and a control part. The pedal rotational speed detecting part detects the rotational speed of pedals. The driving wheel rotational speed detecting part detects the rotational speed of driving wheels. The motor drives the driving wheels. The control part controls the motor so that the rotational speed of the pedals and the driving wheels can achieve a predetermined gear ratio according to the rotational speed of the driving wheels. |
