<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an edge relay device contributing to ensuring of redundancy, and to provide a redundant system of an edge relay device, a wide area network system, and a frame transfer method for an edge relay device. <P>SOLUTION: An edge relay device (26a) has a relay unit controlling a stream of frames among core relay devices (28a and 28e), an external relay device (24a), and the other edge relay device (26b) via an NNI port (32n), an access port (32a), and an IC port (32i). When the unique MAC address in a network, which is allocated to itself, is set as a "my representative address", and the unique MAC address in the network, which is allocated to other edge relay device, is set as a "mate representative address", the relay unit controls the stream of the frame based on a combination of the my representative address and the mate representative address included in a destination address and a transmission source address of the frame. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
