<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus in which density unevenness derived from variation in transmittance due to internal absorption of a resin lens may be suppressed. <P>SOLUTION: In order to suppress density unevenness derived from variation in transmittance of a resin lens, compensation exposure control for uniformizing transmittance of a resin lens used as a scanning lens is executed after forming a printed image. For compensation exposure, an inverted image signal to be used for forming a pseudo inverted printed image corresponding to inversion of the printed image is generated.
