Provided is an image processor which uses a standard image and at least one reference image for synthesis processing to generate a synthesized image having little noise compared at least to the standard image. The image processor is provided with: a motion vector calculation unit for calculating motion vectors between the standard image and the reference image; a motion compensation unit for performing motion compensation based on the motion vectors such that the reference image is aligned with the standard image; a contrast calculation unit for calculating a contrast value of a target pixel in the standard image from the standard image or the reference image; a synthesis ratio calculation unit for calculating, in accordance with the contrast value of the target pixel, the synthesis ratio of the synthesis processing target pixel in the standard image to a corresponding pixel in the motion-compensated reference image, said corresponding pixel corresponding to the target pixel; and a synthesis unit for synthesizing the target pixel in the standard image and the corresponding pixel in the reference image based on the synthesis ratio.
