Disclosed are a method and device for obtaining uplink timing advance in carrier aggregation. The method includes: User Equipment (UE) is pre-configured with a plurality of serving cells, with each serving cell including an uplink CC, so that the UE uses the plurality of configured uplink CCs to transmit uplink data simultaneously; the eNB divides the plurality of serving cells into a plurality of groups, with each group including at least one serving cell, and notifies the UE of the grouping information and the identity of the group to which each serving cell belongs, and the eNB configures different TA values for each group. The UE can obtain the TA value of each group by way of the random access process. By way of the method disclosed in the present invention, one UE can obtain a plurality of TA values.
