The invention relates to a rotary joint for a movably mounted component, in particular for a seat cushion of a vehicle seat, having at least two bearing parts (3, 4) rotatably mounted with respect to one another and comprising sliding surfaces facing each other, wherein a first bearing part (3) comprises at least two bearing shells (5, 6), wherein the spacing of said bearing shells with respect to one another can be varied, by means of which bearing shells the second bearing part (4) is at least partially enclosed at the circumference thereof, and at least one means for increasing the pressing force between the sliding surfaces of the bearing shells (5, 6) and those of the second bearing part (4) is associated with one of the bearing parts. Noise and vibrations are thus prevented.
