摘要 A novel visible-light-responsive photocatalyst is provided in which the environmental resistance of a visible-light-responsive tungsten oxide semiconductor under alkaline conditions has been improved. The environmental resistance of a visible-light-responsive tungsten oxide semiconductor that is unstable under alkaline conditions is improved, without depriving the semiconductor of the photocatalytic function, by adding thereto any one of copper, tantalum, niobium, lanthanum, bismuth, calcium, chromium, manganese, and zinc or two or more thereof in combination. The photocatalytic activity of the obtained environment-resistant visible-light-responsive photocatalyst is further improved by treating the photocatalyst with an alkali.
