COMPOSITION FOR STABILIZATION OF HEAVY METAL OR ARSENIC CONTAMINATED SOILS AND WASTEWATER USING CALCINED OYSTER SHELL AND SLUDGE

PURPOSE: A composition for stabilizing of heavy metals or arsenic contaminated soils and treating wastewater using plasticized shells and sludge is provided to improve the quality of soil and water and to control the acidification of the soil and the water. CONSTITUTION: A composition for stabilizing of heavy metals or arsenic contaminated soils and treating wastewater includes plasticized shell powder and sludge powder containing goethite and calcite. The plasticized shell powder is obtained by plasticizing shells or shell powder at 800-1500 degrees Celsius for 1 to 4 hours. The plasticized shell powder is plasticized oyster shell powder. The content of the goethite and the calcite in the sludge is respectively 50-90 parts by weight and 10-40 parts by weight based on 100 parts by weight of the sludge.
