786,480. Fluid-pressure servomotor control systems. GARRETT CORPORATION. Feb. 22, 1954 [March 16,1953], No. 26150/56. Divided out of 786,479. Class 135. Pressure-regulating mechanism for pressurized aircraft cabins comprises a pressureresponsive element 71, 320 controlling a valve closure member 318a, a chamber 313 for a control pressure obtained from a regulating unit connected to a conduit 316, a secondary chamber 319, the pressure in which acts on a portion of the pressure-responsive element, inlet and outlet passages 319a, 330 respectively for the secondary chamber, and means controlling one of said passages to control the modifying pressure. As shown, the outlet passage 330 from the chamber 319 is controlled by a solenoid-actuated valve 331 of which the solenoid is energized from an amplifier 332 connected to a Wheatstone bridge having a pair of resistances A, B which are adjusted by movement of the pressure-responsive elements of a pair of outlet valves from a pressurized enclosure. The arrangement is such that any variation in opening of the left-hand outlet valve causes the bridge to become unbalanced and results in an adjustment of the right-hand valve to maintain a required proportionality between the openings of the two valves. In each of the valves the secondary chamber is bounded on its lower side by a diaphragm 322 secured to a fixed boss 321. |
