Method for manufacturing rods and their use as implants

The method involves filling a fresh-extruded profile with a plastic molding material within a calibrator, where the plastic profile is made of semi-crystalline thermoplastic material and an outermost layer is made of another plastic molding material. A newly formed rod is calibrated, withdrawn and cooled, where the latter plastic molding material comprises crystallite melting point of 170 degree Celsius, crystallization temperature of maximum 70 Kelvin and melting enthalpy of 20 joule per gram according to ISO 11357. An independent claim is also included for an implant.
