A method for preparing a set accelerator, the product obtained and its use, which method produces a complex species of aluminium silicate hydroxy sulphate applicable as a concrete set accelerator obtained in solution and/or aqueous suspension and which can be dried in order to produce a solid product, the object of which is to accelerate the hardening of dry or wet projected cement mixtures (mortar and concrete) and ensure a fast development of early compressive strength, as well as reducing initial set times, with a content in alkaline metals of less than 1% as Na 2 O, which can be considered an alkali-free accelerator.
