<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing an optical film for inexpensively producing an optical film having satisfactory appearance. <P>SOLUTION: The method for producing the optical film comprises: a rubbing treatment step where the surface of a long-length plastic film F is rubbed with a rubbing roll 4 having a rotary axis tilted from the direction orthogonal to the transport direction of the plastic film; an application step where liquid crystal molecules is applied onto the surface of the plastic film subjected to the rubbing treatment step; and a fixing step where the applied liquid crystal molecules are fixed, and the method is characterized in that in the rubbing treatment step, the relaxation modulus of the surface of the plastic film rubbed with the rubbing roll is ≥3.5 GPa. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
