<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem that the size of a conventional three-dimensional image display device constituted of a multiple telecentric afocal imaging optical system is too large with respect to a screen size and it is difficult to obtain a satisfactory image because of lens aberrations. <P>SOLUTION: A projector 100 has an eccentric projection optical system, is two-dimensionally arranged in the horizontal direction and the vertical direction to constitute a two-dimensional image projection display array as a whole, and performs the image formation which provides directions of directive light rays necessary for the three-dimensional image formation, whereby a common image surface 18 of an afocal optical system can be formed near a common lens 16, and the common lens 16 can be arranged proximately to a vertical diffusion plate 17. Further, a deflection function is provided by an eccentric projection optical system 103 disposed in the projector 100 and the common lens 16.
