<p>The method involves determining a relative position of an object, which is found external to the vehicle with the sensors (14,16) of the driver assistance system with respect to the sensors. A distance of the object (12) to the vehicle is determined for a contour of an outer surface of the vehicle with the help of the detected position and with the help of a model (10). A three-dimensional form of the outer surface is patterned with the model, information where the object is placed in the area is stored in an area adjoining to the outer surface outside the vehicle. An independent claim is also included for a driver assistance system for a vehicle.</p> |
