PURPOSE: A standby power supply system for a car is provided to facilitate installation and removal by charging a rechargeable battery with a cigar jack of a car. CONSTITUTION: A standby power supply system for a car comprises a connector(210), a rechargeable battery(240), a charging unit(220), a control unit(260), and a switch unit(230). The connector receives power of a car in first and second modes. The rechargeable battery supplies the power to external electric devices(300). If the power of the car is supplied from the connector, the charging unit charges the rechargeable battery. The control unit outputs control signals by which the power of the car is supplied to the electric devices if the power of the car is supplied from the connector or the power of the rechargeable battery is supplied to the electric devices if the power of the car is not supplied. The switch unit receives the output power of the charging unit and the power of the car to supply one of the output power of the charging unit and the power of the car to the electric devices according to the control of the control unit.
